Music Theory Workshops

Grade 5 Theory has a bit of a reputation for being a big barrier to moving onto the higher grades on your instrment. I believe I can help you overcome this barrier easily and as somebody who is training to become an ABRSM theory examiner, I have a unique insight into what you need to know to pass.

Learning theory in a lesson once a week can make the whole process quite drawn out and students tend to forget topics between graded workbooks. 

I am offering two hour workshops where in depth work on a couple of topics can be undertaken. Understanding the whole cycle of fifths and the construction of major and minor scales can easily be achieved in this time scale, which then facilitates so many other topics.

Perhaps you have completed the workbooks, but are struggling to pass or even complete the past papers. In a  two hour workshop you can work through a paper with me, learn how to complete the questions correctly and find out what the examiners are looking for to get a good mark. 

Workshops can be run in pairs or on an individual basis. The cost per 2 hours for a group of two is £40 each. If you require an individual session, the cost is £50.
